Our interactive online tuition is undertaken one to one using a collaborative, interactive approach.

In Maths, we recommend that students have a way to write on the online whiteboard. Most students opt to use a inexpensive graphics tablet (e.g. the Wacom One). Other students prefer to use an iPad with Apple Pencil, or a Surface Pro with a stylus, or similar.

Testimonials

“I wanted to email to say a very big thank you for teaching me in the Lower Sixth and for all your support and help. Lower Sixth was when I realised how much I loved Maths and that I wanted to continue it on to University and I feel like that is credit to your teaching and enthusiasm. On Friday I will be leaving for university to study Mathematics. I am really excited to see what is store for me… I wouldn’t have been able to get this far without your teaching.

— Charlie

“Thank you so much for teaching Maths! I genuinely enjoyed every single topic this year and I found the differential equations topic particularly interesting!”

— Frank

“I’m sorry to hear you’re leaving as you’re without doubt the best maths teacher I’ve ever had, even thought you’ve only taught me 1 year I’ve found your lessons informative and enjoyable, and your feedback always spot on and I’ll remember it forever.

— Michael

(From a teaching colleague)

I’ve just had [student X]. He can be a tricky customer. We were studying a poem in which a boy described his school experience as intoxicating - I explained this meant he was almost drunk with excitement and enjoyment. [Student X] said that this is how he feels in his lessons with Mr Williams! He said he wishes his maths lessons with you would never end. Your lessons and Mr Simmon’s physics lessons are the only lesson where he is not always checking the clock. ”

— Katy

“I wanted to thank you for all your help throughout the last year in Maths…. You were the most interesting and enthusiastic teacher that I have ever had and it made your lessons very fun even though maths was a subject that I previously found quite plain. As well as this, you were always very good at explaining topics and always bothered to make sure that we understood them.”

— Kiran

“It has been a privilege to have you as my maths teacher over the past year, and your quality of teaching is really what has accelerated my learning.”

— Elian

“Thank you for all you have done for me over the last 2 years. The enrichment sessions and lessons have really helped me and I don’t think I’d have got my Oxford offer without them.”

— Max

“I just wanted to stay thank you very much for all the help you have given and offered me over the past 2 and a half years. You have made GCSE and A level (well so far at least) fun to learn and solve problems in.

You are a great explainer and have left me, so far, with probably the best understanding of any subjects I’ve studied so far and made Maths (even if I much prefer the applied part) one of my favourite subjects. Once again, thank you for all your help.”

— Tristan

“He is so nice, so understanding and encouraging! He really cares about every individual student and always takes the time to talk/explain things to us.”

“Always happy to provide advice and to help you plan ways to stay on top of all the work and emphasise the importance of balance. He also allows you to grow as an individual by helping you to identify your weaknesses and guides you to strengthen them one by one.”

“Mr Williams is the most cheerful and positive teacher I’ve ever had. As I’m sure all his students would agree, speaking to Mr Williams never fails to brighten your day.”
